Glendale Adventist Receives Stroke Achievement Award
Glendale Adventist Medical Center recently received the 2009 American Heart Association/American Stroke Association’s Get With The Guidelines Stroke Gold Plus Performance Achievement Award.
The designation recognizes GAMC’s commitment and success in implementing excellent care for stroke patients according to evidence-based guidelines. To receive the award, the hospital had to achieve an 85% or higher adherence to all Get With The Guidelines indicators for two or more consecutive 12-month intervals.
Additionally, the facility had to achieve a 75% or higher compliance with six of 10 Get With The Guidelines-Stroke Quality Measures, which are reporting initiatives to measure quality of care.
In addition, the Los Angeles County Department of Health Services and Emergency Medical Services Agency recently implemented a new stroke designation program and has named GAMC among the Approved Stroke Centers in Los Angeles County.
